Welcome to H_News. Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle your information when you use the H_News Android application.
H_News does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or sensitive user data. The application functions solely as a news reader, displaying publicly accessible content sourced from Hacker News through a third-party API.
The app does not request or require any special permissions on your device. It functions entirely through public API access and does not interact with local storage, contacts, location data, or any other device-level resources.
H_News uses the Algolia-powered Hacker News Search API, an unofficial public API, to retrieve and display content from Hacker News. This API is not maintained or endorsed by Y Combinator or the official Hacker News team. We do not control or modify the content served through this API.
Future updates of this app may switch to the official Hacker News API provided by Y Combinator. Any such changes will be reflected in this policy.
The application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the updated version will be posted here with the revised effective date. Users are encouraged to review this page periodically for any changes.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions regarding this Privacy Policy, you may contact the developer through GitHub or through the support email provided on the Google Play Store listing.
